
Today PROTON has the expertise and technology to build
small, medium, large size and sports cars, SUVs, MPVs
and through Lotus also posses knowledge of building
military vehicles, motorcycles, light aircrafts and
watercrafts. In a short s[an of eight years since the
acquisition of Lotus in 1996, PROTON has since developed
four vehicle platforms, and two engine families that
can easily produce up to 20 new products.
The Lotus input will make Proton cars of the new generation
unique in both design and driving performance, where
the emphasis is no longer on building just everyday
cars, but cars that are engineered to exhilarate.
Today, PROTON's R&D facilities can be categorized into
six main areas: Vehicle Platforms, Prototype Centre,
Powertrain Engineering, Homologation & Testing, Engineering
Development & Services, and Engineering Research. |
