PROTON today awarded 258 employees from PROTON Shah Alam and Tanjung Malim with the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3. The graduation ceremony was graced by Dr Mohd Rashid Buyong Hamzah, Deputy Director General of the Department of Skills Development and Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON.
Beijing, China, 26 April 2019 – PROTON exchanged documents with two different parties in Beijing to help power the Company’s expansion plans for the future. The first exchange was with ALHAJ Automobile (ALHAJ) from Pakistan and was a Licensing and Technical Assistance Agreement related to the building of a manufacturing plant in Karachi to assemble Proton cars for the Pakistani market. The second document exchange was with China Construction Bank (CCB) for banking facilities totalling RM1.88b.

Kuala Lumpur, 9 April 2019 – Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (PROTON) today extended their partnership with PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PLMM), a subsidiary of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) and PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) for a period of ten years, to develop, supply and deliver lubricant products and functional fluids, effective 1 January 2019.

The achievement means PROTON’s first SUV has broken all previous records for delivery numbers in its segment, simultaneously establishing the national automotive brand as one of the leaders in Malaysia’s SUV market.
Islamabad, Pakistan, 22 March 2019 – A project for the first ever CKD assembly plant for Proton vehicles in Pakistan officially began today when the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Yang Amat Berhormat Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr Imran Khan, signed a ceremonial marble plaque at an event held in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Shah Alam, 11 March 2019 – The 2019 Proton Persona was officially unveiled to the Malaysian media today at PROTON’s Malaysia Design Centre in Shah Alam. The B-segment family sedan has been given an exterior redesign as well as an intelligent head unit identical to the one in the 2019 Iriz and based on the system used in the Proton X70. Both the Persona and Iriz are the first models in Proton’s current range to be updated following the collaboration with Geely and the official launch of both vehicles is currently planned to occur simultaneously in March 2019.
