PANTAI BHARU CORPORATION SDN BHD OFFICIALLY OPENED BRAND NEW 3S OUTLET

Klang, 11 July 2018 – Fresh from its first 4S outlet launch last month, PROTON is proud to announce official opening of brand new Pantai Bharu Corporation Sdn Bhd (“Pantai Bharu”) 3S outlet. Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, officiated the event, accompanied by Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and senior management members of PROTON.

Pantai Bharu Corporation Sdn Bhd officially operates as a 3S outlet, providing better customer experience

The outlet previously operated on a 1S and 2S basis, on separate premises, however, to serve customers better in line with PROTON standard requirements, the management of Pantai Bharu have decided to invest and expand the business to a 3S outlet and operate it under a totally new set up building at Jalan Kapar, Klang.

Dato’ Shamshudin Nor, the owner and shareholder who has been heading the business for the past 32 years, believes that, “In order to succeed, we need to move with times and stay relevant. The market is fluid, what works today, may not work tomorrow. So the intention to relocate to a new area to provide better customer experience is inevitable. The new area will provide convenience to customers as a one stop centre for sales, service and spare parts”.

“This new outlet has 12 service bays, 8 hoists, could accommodate 35 customer seating, 3 delivery bays, and 70 customer parking bays. In addition, we also have a play area to keep the children occupied, coffee and phone/laptop charging area for customers to sit and relax, as well as free WIFI to keep customers connected at all times,” shared Dato’ Shamshudin Nor.

Welcomes competition, positive for sales and service growth

Located in the vicinity of other car marques along Jalan Kapar, the veteran is not afraid of the competition, but rather welcomes it. The locality, which is situated in a busy commercial area will in fact serve as a point for consumers to shop around easily, as they would be able to hop from one showroom to another to check out the best deals.

He further added, “We are positive that with the new and fresh looking façade, better lighting and ambience for interior and exterior, we will be able to attract more customers to our showroom, hence this will definitely push our sales and service level upwards. We foresee a 100% increase in sales and service throughput with the inception of this outlet upgrade”.

The day’s event saw the outlet deliver 3 new cars to its customers.

Outlet upgrades on track, sales and quality improves

As at 30 June, PROTON has accomplished 87 outlets ready for upgrade to 3S and 4S, ahead of its scheduled time by two months. This is an achievement of 80% against target of 109 outlets, set to be completed by October this year. In addition,PROTON also recorded sales of more than 50% over May 2018 and this contributed to garnering a market share of approximately 10%, with Saga and Persona leading the sales volume, by increase of 70% and 56% respectively compared to previous month.

Three folds product quality improvement

Quality wise, Proton cars have recorded improved quality and lower demerit points, based on Global Customer Product Audit (“GCPA”) system implementation which is measured by VOLVO quality standards. As at June 2018, the demerit points has improved 3 folds and to date, the demerit score is 1763 points. Based on this trend, PROTON is positive of its target of achieving 1500 demerit points by end of this year. The lower the demerit points, the higher it is in terms of product quality improvements.
