Subang Jaya, 10 December 2024 – National carmaker PROTON registered sales of 12,194 units (domestic and export) in November, a slight decrease of 4.7% compared to October but in-line with the contraction in total industry volume (TIV) of 4.1% for Malaysian automotive sales. Forecast market share for the month is 18.2% leading to a YTD figure of 18.8% for the whole of 2024.

With an estimated 731,026 units sold thus far, the market projects to achieve a new record level for a second successive year as it breaks through the 800,000 units barrier, positioning Malaysia as the second highest volume passenger vehicle market in ASEAN this year.
