Subang Jaya, 18 July 2025 – Car buyers in Malaysia have been wowed by the All-New PROTON X50 during its nationwide prelaunch tour.The newest version of Malaysia’s number one B-segment SUV has appeared at popular attractions in various cities, drawing crowds eager for a closer look at PROTON’s newest SUV offering. As a result, 5,000 bookings have been secured just 10 days after order taking began on 5 July.
This means one booking for the All-New PROTON X50 is received every three minutes and represents a 50% take-up of the early bird offer consisting of a RM1,000 cash rebate, special edition Touch N Go card and an exclusive GEMPAK! Deal, that will be given to the first 10,000 customers. Full pricing details will be revealed at the official launch, set to take place on the evening of 24 July.

Lifestyle themed launch event to be held on 24 July as public test drives start this weekend
Featuring new styling both inside and out, upgraded ADAS Level 2 technology, a new engine, an upgraded IHU system with a large 14.6-inch screen, and for the first time ever, Bahasa Melayu voice recognition, the All-New Proton X50 is targeted towards buyers who live active lifestyles. In keeping with this theme, the launch event and price reveal will be held on 24 July at a lifestyle venue, perfectly mirroring the model’s bold and progressive athletic spirit, and promising an immersive and dynamic reveal that captures the essence of this exciting new product.
Offered in three dynamic variants – Executive, Premium and Flagship, the All-New Proton X50 is powered by a new i-GT 1.5 TD engine mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Delivering 133kW (181PS) and 290Nm of torque, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds – 0.3 seconds faster than the previous model, with a 4.7% improvement in efficiency, delivering more performance with better fuel economy. Potential buyers will be able to feel these improvements in person by visiting a PROTON outlet as test drives are being offered starting from 19 July.
Malaysian group De Fam spices up launch event with “All-New PROTON X50 Ready” song
To further uplift the bold spirit of the All-New PROTON X50, Malaysian powerhouse girl group De Fam will debut the music video of their specially composed single, “All-New PROTON X50” during the launch event. The song made its public debut on 5 July during the “Open for Booking” announcement event, highlighting the model’s bold and progressive spirit and providing the perfect accompaniment for the various promotional activities held prior to the launch.
