PROTON WELCOMES BACK DATO’ ABDUL RASHID MUSA AS DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

SUBANG JAYA, 3 Nov 2025 – PROTON Holdings Berhad (PROTON) would like to announce the appointment of Dato’ Abdul Rashid Musa as the company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is effective beginning 1 November 2025, and he will report directly to Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON.

A well-respected figure in Malaysia’s automotive industry, Dato’ Abdul Rashid returns to PROTON with more than 30 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and product development. During his previous tenure, he served as Chief Technical Officer before being appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer for Proton Edar, where he oversaw several key milestones that marked the company’s growth including the launch of the Proton X70 in 2018.

Following his time at PROTON, Dato’ Abdul Rashid then oversaw major portfolios within UMW Holdings Berhad, including heading the aerospace division, as well as leading initiatives in mobility, innovation and sustainable development aligned with the national agenda, further reinforcing his commitment to advancing Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem.

With this appointment, Ainol Azmil will resume his roles as Vice President, Corporate Strategy, as well as oversee PROTON’s Group Technical Procurement division as its Senior Director. The company extends its heartfelt appreciation for his capable leadership and commitment during his time as Covering Deputy Chief Executive Officer where his steady guidance ensured continuity in management operations.
