CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF THE PROTON SAGA

Subang Jaya, 7 July 2020 – 9 July 1985 was just another day for many people but for Malaysia, it marked the date of entry to a select group of nations with the capability to build their own cars. That was the day the Proton Saga started rolling off production lines, a little over two years after the establishment of Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional (PROTON).

PROTON SEES SALES SURGE IN JUNE

Subang Jaya, 2 July 2020 – Malaysian car sales rebounded during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) in June as incentives from the government and pent up demand pushed Total Industry Volume (TIV) numbers ahead of where they were in 2019. PROTON has benefitted from this surge as sales of Malaysian automotive brands are estimated to account for 66.4% of the market this month.

PROTON ANNOUNCES NEW PRICES FOR MODELS EFFECTIVE 15 JUNE 2020

Subang Jaya, 15 June 2020 – Following the government’s recent announcement of zero sales tax for cars sold in Malaysia for a six month period beginning 15 June 2020, PROTON will reduce its car prices by 1.2% - 5.7%.
