Tanjung Malim, 22 April 2026 – PROTON continued to demonstrate its commitment to developing local talent and supporting the community by hosting an industrial visit for trainees at its facilities within the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV). The initiative is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to provide young Malaysians with practical exposure and a better understanding of the automotive industry.

The visit brought together 35 aspiring talents from GIATMARA Tanjung Malim, representing diverse technical backgrounds such as automotive & motorcycle technology, and vehicle repair & paint refinishing. With some enthusiasts starting their journey as young as 15 years old, the initiative provided future specialists a front-row seat to the precision and craftsmanship of modern manufacturing at PROTON Tanjung Malim.

Throughout the programme, trainees were given guided access to key manufacturing areas, where they observed vehicle assembly processes, quality control standards, and the application of advanced technologies. To further enrich the experience, the session was led by Chief Designer of PROTON Azlan Othman, who shared insights into the creative and technical excellence driving the brand forward.

“At PROTON, we see talent development as a long term responsibility. It is important to engage young Malaysian and sustain their interest in the automotive field by giving them meaningful exposure to the industry. Through initiatives like this at AHTV, we are not only sharing industry knowledge, but also helping young talents understand the evolving automotive landscape, including advancements in electrification. This is key to building a strong pipeline of future-ready talent for the nation,” added Dr Kasuma Satria Bin Mat Jadi, Chief Human Resource Officer of PROTON.

“This industrial visit gave our trainees valuable exposure to operations at PROTON’s plant in Tanjung Malim, allowing them to see what it takes to be amongst the leading brands in Malaysia’s automotive industry. They were particularly impressed by the advanced technologies, efficient production systems and strong quality practices, which are responsible for producing the current range of Proton vehicles. Experiences like this are important to inspire our students to build their skills and pursue careers in the automotive sector,” said Fadilah Bt Abdullah, Head of GIATMARA Tanjung Malim.

PROTON continues to strengthen the collaboration between industry and training institutions, positioning the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) as a premier hub for learning, innovation, and talent development. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals and supporting Malaysia’s aspirations to enhance the TVET ecosystem. As part of this ongoing effort, PROTON welcomes educational institutions, trainees, and aspiring engineers from across the nation to visit its Tanjung Malim facilities to experience the precision of modern automotive manufacturing first-hand while gaining valuable insights into industry practices, technological advancements, and diverse career pathways.
