Subang Jaya, 12 February 2026 – PROTON has begun the year with strong momentum, recording close to 20,000 vehicle sales in January. While this milestone reflects the company’s solid market performance, PROTON believes that true progress is built not only on numbers, but on knowledge — the foundation that drives innovation and technological advancement.
In line with its corporate social responsibility commitment to education, PROTON collaborated with Management & Science University (MSU) to organise an immersive knowledge-sharing session titled “Automotive Styling and Canva Design Skills Workshop” on 7 February at an NGO training centre in Subang Jaya for more than 20 students aged between 15 and 25. Participants were given a rare opportunity to learn directly from three of PROTON’s experienced car designers, who shared insights into the creative thinking and processes behind automotive design.
The workshop featured three PROTON car designers — Ayu Mastura binti Khamis, Harman Shah bin Sulaiman and Wan Taqiyyudin Ahmad bin Was Hussin — who shared insights into the creative thinking and processes behind automotive styling. Complementing the industry perspective was Media Graphic and Design Lecturer from MSU, Muhammad Afifi bin Ahmad Tarmizi.
During the interactive workshop, participants were given a behind-the-scenes look at how key design elements, such as colour selection and seat materials are conceptualised and developed during the creation of new vehicle models. Beyond design fundamentals, the discussion emphasised the importance of creative thinking, illustrating how imagination and innovation play a vital role in shaping the automotive industry. For many of the students, the experience opened up a fresh perspective and encouraged them to approach their studies and future ambitions with greater creativity and confidence.
The initiative aims to broaden students’ horizons by providing access to industry professionals they may not typically encounter, inspiring them to see creative fields as exciting and achievable career pathways.
“Knowledge is like a lamp — its light, no matter how small, can illuminate even the darkest path. At PROTON, we believe that sharing knowledge sparks curiosity and opens doors to new possibilities,” said Dato’ Ir Abdul Rashid Bin Musa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON.
By bridging the gap between industry expertise and classroom learning, PROTON continues to champion education while inspiring the next generation. This initiative reflects the company’s belief that nurturing creativity today will help pave the way for brighter opportunities tomorrow.
