PROTON CHANNELS ZAKAT CONTRIBUTIONS TO 11 BENEFICIARIES IN NEED

Subang Jaya, 31 March 2026 – PROTON continues to uphold its commitment to community wellbeing this festive season, channelling RM64,500 in zakat contributions to 11 beneficiaries nationwide, presented at an iftar event at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel.

The contributions support a range of initiatives including the development of religious learning centres, enhancement of community facilities, and educational programmes, as well as assistance for asnaf and underprivileged groups. Among the recipients are Sekolah Agama Rakyat Proton City (SRA), Masjid At-Taqwa Proton City, and organisations carrying out Ramadan programmes for asnaf and orphans.

The event was also attended by key stakeholders and government representatives, including officials from the Ministry of Finance, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) & Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living , reflecting continued collaboration between PROTON and public sector partners in supporting community-focused initiatives.

“At PROTON, we believe our responsibility goes beyond mobility. Supporting 11 beneficiaries through zakat contributions reflects our ongoing commitment to community development and to creating impact where it is needed most. Our focus is to ensure these contributions create lasting value while strengthening the communities we serve,” said Dato’ Ir Rashid Musa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON.

Fifth in the series, ‘Darah Biru’ continues PROTON’s raya films

In conjunction with the iftar event, PROTON also previewed its latest Hari Raya film titled, “Darah Biru”, under its established Raya storytelling series. The film marks the fifth instalment in PROTON’s Raya video series since 2022, which has become a key platform for the brand to connect with Malaysians through meaningful storytelling.

Following its preview, “Darah Biru” has been released across PROTON’s official Facebook, Instagram and YouTube platforms, garnering a total of 1.929 million views to date. Featuring Jalil Hamid, Sathia Periasamy and Akmal Ahmad, the film brings to life a story centred on unity, resilience and togetherness, reflecting everyday Malaysian experiences during the festive season.
